Do you ever found yourself torn between what your head is saying and what your gut is whispering?
It's time to try a simple self-inquiry exercise that helps you gently unravel the layers between thoughts, intuition and instinct.
TRY THIS SIMPLE EXERCISE: Tuning In to Mind, Intuition, Instinct, and Knowing
As an example, imagine you're questioning whether someone you're entering into a relationship with is truly right for you. Grab a pen and paper, and answer each question below in turn:
✨ Mind and Thought
Question: Do I think this person is right for me?
Let your logical brain speak. Free-write without censoring. Let the thoughts flow.
✨ Intuition and Sense
Question: Do I feel this person is right for me?
Now shift into your body. What does your heart say? What subtle sense or feeling arises?
✨ Instinct and Knowing
Question: Do I know (sense in my gut) that this person is right for me?
This is the deeper current. Not loud, not pushy—just quiet clarity. A primal instinct. What truth arises when you ask this?
What You Might Discover From This Exercise
This is what is important...
Each part of you offers a different kind of insight.
When you learn to recognise and honour each of these senses, decision-making becomes softer, steadier, and more aligned with your whole self.
